Oregon Head Coach Candidates

The Ducks are in the market for a new coach and could be making a major splash

Top Names to Watch:

Dave Aranda - Baylor HC

While this feels like a long shot, Aranda would be an absolute home run and does have West Coast ties. The Baylor Head Coach grew up in California and has spent time coaching in Hawaii and Utah which would give the Ducks strong recruiting pipelines. Aranda was one of the best defensive coordinators in the country before taking the Baylor job and quickly won 11 games in just his 2nd season.

Dan Lanning - Georgia DC

Dan Lanning put together one of the best defenses in college football history this season and is just 35 years old. If Oregon decides they want a young energetic coach on the rise, this could be their guy and his experience in the SEC would be invaluable.

Justin Wilcox - Cal HC

Justin Wilcox wants out at Cal and has reportedly expressed interest in the Oregon job through his agent. The Cal Head Coach is a brilliant defensive mind and hiring him instantly gives you credibility on one side of the ball. The issue here is who does he hire at OC? He would have better resources to hire a top coordinator at Oregon but the offense he's run at Cal has been awful. This could end up with the Ducks maxing out around 8-5 or 9-4 every year.

Bryan Harsin - Auburn HC

Bryan Harsin is another coach from the Northwest who is looking to return and would be interested in the Oregon position if offered. The former Boise State Head Coach won 10+ games there 5x after taking over for Chris Petersen and is now in his 1st year at Auburn where he went 6-6.
