The first seven weeks of the season have been absolutely wild with upsets galore. The Beavers and Cougs have been surprisingly good while USC, Washington and Cal have been worse than anyone could imagine. Every Pac-12 team has at least one loss and every Pac-12 team other than Oregon has two losses. The stretch run is going to be unbelievably fun with so many teams in contention for the division title. We take you through the best performers at the midway point of the season.
Coach of the Year: Kyle Whittingham (Utah)
The Utah season got off to a rough start with losses to BYU and San Diego. Then, things took a tragic turn. Aaron Lowe was shot and killed at a party on September 26th. The Utes could have folded and no one would have blamed them. Instead, the team has come out with purpose to honor the legacy of their former teammate. Utah now is the only undefeated Pac-12 team in conference play.
Offensive Player of the Year: Drake London (USC)
Drake London is a physical specimen at 6-5 210 and every week he comes out and dominates opponents. The USC star has 5 games this season with 130 or more receiving yards and may very well finish with over 1,600 yards on the season.
Defensive Player of the Year: Devin Lloyd (Utah)
Devin Lloyd is the emotional leader of the Utes and a joy to watch every time he is on the field. The Utah playmaker is a tackling machine and often finds himself in the opponent backfield with 13 TFL's on the season.
