2022 Season - Picks Against the Spread: 11-6
UCLA vs South Alabama
Betting Line: UCLA -15.5
Im not sure UCLA is getting enough credit here on the spread. The Bruins have a nice mix of veterans and Dorian Thompson-Robinson and Chip Kelly will make sure this team doesn't overlook anyone. You know the Chip Kelly offense will put up points and the defense led by Grayson and Gabriel Murphy should create plenty of havoc in the South Alabama backfield. The Bruins win another easy contest and eye a 4-0 start as they look to take on Colorado in Boulder for Week Four.
Prediction: UCLA 37 vs South Alabama 20
Cal at Notre Dame
Betting Line: Notre Dame -12
The Fighting Irish are reeling after back to back losses to start the season. Combined with the bowl loss at the end of the 2021 season, Marcus Freeman has started his tenure 0-3 and desperately needs this win. After the stunning upset last week, Notre Dame comes out focused and takes care of business.
Prediction: Notre Dame 30 vs Cal 17
Betting Line: Oregon -3.5
Credit to BYU for putting together such a difficult schedule. One week after outlasting a Top 25 Baylor squad, they now must head to Eugene. Oregon on the other hand, looked much improved against Eastern Washington compared to their performance in Week One. BYU may prove to be the better team by the end of the season but winning at Autzen is no easy feat and the Ducks find a way to pull this one out in the final minute.
Prediction: Oregon 27 vs BYU 24
Colorado at Minnesota
Betting Line: Minnesota -27.5
After a 41-10 loss to Air Force, Colorado is officially a mess. It's hard to see Karl Dorrell lasting past this season and another blow out looks to be on the way. Minnesota rolls easily in this one.
Prediction: Minnesota 42 vs Colorado 17
Washington State vs Colorado State
Betting Line: WSU -16.5
Colorado State looks to be in the midst of another rebuilding season after a 15 point loss to Middle Tennessee and a 44 point loss to Michigan. The Cougs should show some offensive improvement this week and their defense will continue to stifle their opponent.
Prediction: WSU 34 vs Colorado State 17
#11 Michigan State at Washington
Betting Line: Washington -3.5
Not very often do you see the #11 team in the country as an underdog to an unranked program. Las Vegas and bettors around the country have obviously taken notice of what Kalen DeBoer has done with this UW offense and it should give Michigan State fits after the Spartans finished last in the nation in pass defense in 2021. If the Huskies can protect Michael Penix Jr. from Jacoby Windmon, UW should pull out a close win on a last second field goal.
Prediction: Washington 33 vs Michigan State 30
Oregon State vs Montana State
A special season may be brewing in Corvallis. The Beavers played one of the most entertaining games of the season last Saturday when they scored a last second touchdown to win against Jake Haener and Fresno State. Oregon State coasts in this one to an easy victory and then will face USC and Utah in back to back weeks.
Prediction: Oregon State 49 vs Montana State 17
#14 Utah vs San Diego State
Betting Line: Utah -21.5
San Diego State simply isn't the same team they were last season and Utah isn't the same team that lost to the Aztecs last Fall either. An easy victory for Utah here as they get their revenge.
Prediction: Utah 45 vs San Diego State 20
#7 USC vs Fresno State
This one has the potential to be special and you're not going to want to miss it. Expect a high scoring affair with plenty of fireworks. In the end, USC's talent wins out despite a hard fought game by Fresno State.
Prediction: USC 44 vs Fresno State 30
Arizona vs North Dakota State
This is a must win for Fisch as he looks to re-establish Arizona as a Pac-12 contender. North Dakota State won't go down easy but Jayden de Laura should play better than he did last week and the Bison won't have an answer for Jacob Cowing
Prediction: Arizona 31 vs North Dakota State 24
ASU vs Eastern Michigan
Betting Line: ASU -20.5
Eastern Michigan should be no match for ASU's defense. The Sun Devils get back on track with a blowout win.
Prediction: ASU 41 vs Eastern Michigan 17
